On Thursday, children from all classes received their reward for reaching their AR targets. Simone and Michael from StoryGate visited First Class as part of Daingean Library Children’s Book Festival workshop. In this storytelling session, they were joined by “King of the Pranksters” hand-puppet Vinny, the Vulture.The class thoroughly enjoyed the workshop as you can see from their reactions!
Pupils in each class really enjoyed their trip to Mountlucas wind farm last week. Some children enjoyed a visit to the sensory garden, whilst others walked or ran the 5km track. 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Class visited their 'Reading Buddies' in Juniors, Seniors, 1st and 2nd Class recently, where they enjoyed reading and chatting about books!
All classes will visit Daingean library in May and June as part of our literacy promotion at Daingean N.S. Ms. Healion’s senior infant class had a very enjoyable visit yesterday. Happy reading everyone!
Ben in 6th class finished in a fantastic 3rd place at the recent Offaly Spelling Bee Final held at Durrow NS on 26th of February. He returned in the afternoon to a hero’s welcome from pupils and staff. Well done Ben!
