Our 5th class attended Birr Castle Demesne Garden & Sciences Centre today for a “Pond Dipping” workshop. An enjoyable, educational day was had by all and thank you to Mr Mullery and Mr Watkins for accompanying our pupils.
We were delighted to invite to the Reptile Zoo to Daingean NS last Monday and Wednesday. Thank you to Midlands Science for organising. Our pupils were delighted and learned a lot about these cold blooded creatures!

Our 6th class pupils participated in the VEX Robotics Championships in Sacred Heart College Tullamore on Wednesday February 1st. A lot of experiments were carried out throughout Science Week. The children had a great week. The boys and girls in 6th class carried out a number of experiments for the children from 1st to 5th class. The also explained the science behind each of their experiments. Well done to all!!
The children in 3rd/4th class took part in a zoom call with anyone4science. They were tasked with making lunch for an astronaut.
All of the pupils have had the opportunity to explore STEAM in a fun and engaging manner this week. 3rd and 4th class took part in the Pollinator Project organised by Offaly Libraries for Biodiversity Week. Judith gave us some fantastic ideas to look out for and encourage pollinators to visit our gardens.
Well done to the boys and girls in 6th class who participated in the VEX Robotics competition in O' Connor Park this year. They thoroughly enjoyed preparing for and participating in the competition.
