Today was a wonderfully positive day of celebration at Daingean NS.
Many thanks to Ms Brereton and all the staff who were involved in our celebration of the many different creative talents that the pupils at our school possess. We did this today by:
- Having musical performances from the school choir and separate songs sung by the pupils in junior classes and senior classes respectively
- The school band playing 2 beautiful traditional tunes
- Raising the Amber Flag, which the school recently received for promoting positive wellbeing in the school
- Acknowledging and announcing that 3 pupils in 3rd/4th class will receive a national award for the Love Your Wellies competition, for their creation of ‘The Croghan Man’.
- Celebrating today our recent awarding of the SFI Curious Minds Gold Award for Stem.
- Holding the final of our Hockey Mini Leagues, one of the many sports that our pupils have an opportunity to experience.
- Holding a barbecue at the end of the school day to acknowledge the pupils who showed up and performed at the Sacramental Masses and the extensive commitment they gave to choir practice.
Without the input of our wonderful pupils, encouragement from parents and the volunteering of staff to provide these different creative projects, we could not create such a positive school environment.
